Dear members, dear friends,
Time to inform you about the opening of the "Count von Luckner Room" in the pub "Schenke am Ochsenberg" at Kröllwitz.
We had a wonderful time together indeed. From 3 p.m. a camera team from a nationwide working broadcasting corporation was with us (two members of the society). They were doing interviews with us about the role of von Luckner in April 1945. We had two Timberwolves with us who could speak about their experiences and memories of that time.
Later on we went to the pub where the other members were waiting for us. The camera team did interviews with all of us for more than two hours and this was a great pleasure for us. Unfortunately they will only be able to use material for three minutes, but this may be better than nothing.
The "Count von Luckner Room" was opened finally with beer, good food and some other drinks. We will officially dedicate the room by unveiling a metal plaque on June 9, von Luckner's birthday.
Soon you will find photos in our website from the event in "Schenke am Ochsenberg".
Tonight from 6 p.m. on we will held our ceremony for the 60th anniversary of the end of the war in Halle. Please be with us in your mind. We will inform you later about that.
Best regards,
Matthias J. Maurer
