Dear members, dear friends,
enclosed you will find some information about our plans in the Count von Luckner year 2006.
In April we have the 40th anniversary of the death of the Count (April 13). That is why some of us will be in Hamburg on April 22 at Ohlsdorfer Friedhof, where the Count has been buried. If you wish to be with us, please note that travel and accommodation has to be organised individually.
On that Saturday we will meet at 10.30 a.m. at the cemetery. At 5.30 p.m. there will be a lecture hold by Matthias J. Maurer about the Count and his life at Rahlstedter Landhaus. If you are in Hamburg that time, please let us know, we will be pleased to provide more information about that to make sure that you can attend.
In June we are going to celebrate the Count’s 125th birthday. But on June 9, the soccer world championship will be opened in Germany and we assume that no one would follow our invitation if we decide to send one. So we are going to meet on June 8 in the evening and got a surprise, about which we are going to inform you later on in another newsletter. On June 10, we will go to Pennrich, where the Count was born and grew up. Our friends and members there will organise a meeting in dignified setting. Of course there will be a meeting in Halle in our von Luckner room in the pup you all know from the photos we put in our website (you will find them in the link "newsletters"). This meeting is a kind of tradition.
There are, furthermore, some other plans, but first we would like to meet you in Hamburg at Ohlsdorfer Friedhof. Well, we know that most of our foreign members will not be able to follow our invitation, but in any case you will be informed about the event afterwards.
