 Dear members, dear friends,
The Count von Luckner Year 2006 has started. Welcome to this year and best wishes from Halle / Germany!
First of all I would like to welcome all new members of our society and of course also those who "only" would like to receive our newsletters. Please note, membership is free for non-German-residents and we are happy about any new one. At the moment we have more than 130 members, the updated list is to be seen in our website (there you can find the number of exactly 130).
It will be a Count von Luckner year for three reasons:
- The 40th anniversary of the Count's passing.
- The 125th birthday of Count von Luckner.
- The 90th anniversary of the beginning of the cruise of the Sea Eagle.
The first event in this year we had on Monday, January 30, in the office of our society. There we presented the model ship "Seeadler" to the members we could purchase at the end of last year. Some impression of that evening will to be seen in our website soon; thanks to the helpers and to those who donated some beer (among others Count von Luckner Beer, named after Nikolaus Count von Luckner).
Also time to thank once more all who helped with their donations to buy this wonderful ship. A list of sponsors is to be found in our website, link: Sponsors.
We, furthermore, made some plans and discussed actual matters; about those you will be informed later on.
