On behalf of the von Luckner Society and also myself I wish you all the best for the year 2005 !!
Due to the increasing number of members I will try in the future to answer as many questions as possible in the newsletters if the answers are of interest for all members. We are 67 now (a new list will be put at our website today) and fortunately, many of you conctact us making proposals and comments to improve our work. This is what we want but, unfortunately, I have to do this work beside my other work and so I will have to do this as effective as possible.
Many of you where impressed by the words of Blaine Pardoe and are now planning to visit Halle too, please, do this, indeed we would love to welcome you here !
Some members would like to obtain the book of Blaine Pardoe, "The Cruise of the Sea Eagle : The Amazing True Story of Imperial Germany's Gentleman Pirate," it can be ordered right now at www.amazon.com and will be delivered after having been released !
In Halle we are - at the moment - planning the April 2005. It is the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II and the city of Halle is going to have a celebration ceremony on April 17, the day the German troops got withdrawn to the southern part of the city. They will invite the Timberwolf veterans and others. We are planning to accentuate the role of Count von Luckner with an exhibition or something like that.
You see, there are a lot of things to do and we stay busy. Of course, we need more members. If you got friends who might be interested in our society, please let us know or tell them about our goals and that it is free to join us.
