Dear members, dear friends,
A big square in Halle near the main station is being reshaped at the moment.
In this connection a few days ago a work of art has been designed by Prof. Helmut Brade. It will welcome those guests of the town who are approaching by train and who walk to the city.
All together 42 figures of local history are on view. Among the figures - you will guess it - you can find Felix Count von Luckner.
A good success, as we think.
Please, remember: Up to now the city of Halle refused to honor the Count officially, no street was named to him, no memorial erected. Unbelievable, we think, but we hope that in the end, the "officials" in the town will be convinced to honor a man who in 1945 helped to save the city and a who still has many friends and admirers worldwide.
In our website you will find soon some pictures of the artwork.
Best regards,
Matthias J. Maurer
President
